Assembly & Test Fitter

Our client based in Newcastle are looking for an Assembly & Test Fitter with mechanical engineering experience to join an expanding team on permanent basis. Working as a team on the shopfloor to perform overhauls on various turbine ancillary equipment, ensuring all repairs are completed on time and to high standards. Working Hours: Monday - Friday 8am - 5pm Salary: 29-30k Responsibilities: * Perform repairs and maintenance on gas turbine components, including stationary repair, to ensure safe and efficient operation of equipment * Generate detailed initial inspection reports for the engineering team. * Rebuild and test products/components in accordance with OEM specification and company procedures. * Generate detailed rebuild & test reports and final inspection reports. * Use of specialist test rigs such as airflow, liquid fuel, compressor, hydraulic, flow divider, drive bench/pump. * Ensure that all work is performed in compliance with safety regulations and industry standards. Knowledge, Skills, Education, Training and Experience: * Apprenticeship in Mechanical Engineering or related field/experience. * Good solid hand skills. * Ability to read technical instructions/drawings. * Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
