Production Supervisor

Kinetic Recruitment are currently resourcing for a hands on Production Supervisor for a heavy engineering client in Gateshead. The role of Production Supervisor is permanent full-time and will be on either a 2-shift or 3-shift pattern. Production Supervisor roles and responsibilities: Work to achieve agreed daily production plan in line with agreed company KPIs. Complete shift reports, safety inspections and ensure operator checklists are completed on time. Supervise manpower, manage and motivate team of operators. Monitor performance of team, coach and support where performance is not at required standard. Identify training needs and organise the delivery of on the job skills and safety. Coordinate production start-ups, shutdowns and changeovers to minimise delays. Report any damaged equipment or plant breakdown to maintenance. To assist with production as necessary. Carry out risk assessments and complete standard operating procedures in conjunction with the Superintendents and QC Department. Understand and work to company SOPs & COPs. Undertake project improvement work. Carry out investigations where employees conduct, performance or attendance is sub-standard. Liaise with the Management and HR on matters of discipline. Assist with employee appraisals. Flexibility to cover holidays, absence and unforeseen circumstances. Carry out any reasonable request that is within the supervisor's skills set and experience. Skills and Experience: Previous experience working in a production/ manufacturing environment. Experience working within a heavy engineering would be beneficial. 2+ years working in a Supervisory role. Strong leadership and team management skills. Excellent communications skills.
