Document Controller

Kinetic Recruitment are currently resourcing for an experienced Document Controller to cover maternity leave at our client's site in Heaton.
The Document Controller will be responsible for the workflow and record keeping of electronic and hard copy documents, for projects and the business that comply with contractual, legal and business regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
A Document Controller will be able to demonstrate the following skills and complete the following tasks:
Identifying and numbering documents that come into the business.
Using an electronic document management system (EDMS) to index, store and retrieve a wide variety of document types.
Converting paper documents to digital format by scanning them using software linked to the EDMS.
Reviewing documents, checking they comply with regulations, creating revisions and archiving outdated versions.
Distributing documents to the relevant people, departments or organisations, and letting them know when they need to take action on a document as part of a process.
Creating master document templates and forms, and training employees how to use them.
Preparing and updating document control procedures for the company.
Making sure that departments are following the correct procedures in the document flow process.
In addition to the above, the role will also cover:
Support the Operational Excellence team with the Quality Management System, ensuring documents are within validity.
General administration support to project teams, raising purchase order requests, support with the project management system and its continued development and implementation.
Support with the running of the office and continued maintenance and compliance through communication with the facility management team.
The working hours are Monday - Thursday 8am-4.30pm / Friday 8am-1pm (37 hours)
Contract length - 9-12 months
Skills and Experience
Previous work experience in a Document Control role
Previous experience in an engineering/ production environment dealing with documentation
Competent Microsoft Office skills
Good communication both written and verbal
Good organisation
